Princess Beatrice of York just turned 25 on August 8. The infamous Philip Treacy fascinator at the royal wedding will forever be associated with the British royal, but there's more to Princess Beatrice's style than that odd choice of headpiece.

Like the Duchess of Cambridge, the Princess is fond of dressy coats and coat dresses. One of her best dressed moments was a pleated Kinder Aggugini number that she wore in June of 2012, during the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations. The soft, striped coat dress wasn't the typical fitted, more structured coat dresses that these British royals are fond of. It had a more relaxed silhouette and the pleats and stripes lent Princess Beatrice's outfit a youthful vibe.

Another clothing item that has a guaranteed best dressed rate on Princess Beatrice of York, is a look with a fit-and-flare silhouette. Case in point: her Jonathan Saunders frock for a Berlin visit in January 2013. She aced her winter look by adding a wide belt, black tights, and black t-strap heels to the green dress.

Where was this fit-and-flare dress when a worst dressed Princess Beatrice of York attended the "Young Victoria" premiere back in 2009? With long-time beau Dave Clark at her side, Princess Beatrice walked the purple carpet in a Temperley London dress. The jeweled shoulder, Grecian goddess dress was a lot of fabric for the Princess, and all that draping did not help. The result was a fussy look that made Princess Beatrice look wider than she was.

"Fussy" was also the downfall of another 2009 ensemble. Princess Beatrice of York was a bit of a puzzling, purple mess at the unveiling of the Queen Mother's memorial statue. A shimmering, cropped tweed jacket over a purple dress with a ruffled skirt was her outfit of the day.

Such fashion disasters can easily be forgotten when Princess Beatrice makes up for it with excellent evening wear choices. The royal need only wear an Elie Saab creation, like her short, blue, embellished dress in Rome, and her floor-length, pale pink gown at the White Tie and Tiara Ball in 2011, and all her worst dressed moments are erased!
