Fleetwood Mac has announced it is canceling its Aussie and New Zealand Tour in 2013. This is in light of recent events concerning bassist John McVie's cancer treatment during that time.

The British-American rock band, which was formed in 1967, issued an official announcement on their Web site and Facebook page.

"We are sorry to not be able to play these Australian and New Zealand dates. We hope our Australian and New Zealand fans and Fleetwood Mac fans everywhere will join us in wishing John and his family all the best," the band's official statement read.

Fleetwood Mac was supposed to start its 2013 Australian Tour in Sydney on Nov. 10. It was slated to perform at the Sydney Entertainment Center from Nov. 10-11. It was also scheduled to play at the Hunter Valley Hope Estate Winery on Nov. 16, Adelaide Entertainment Center on Nov. 19 and Perth Arena on Nov. 22.

Aside from the tour dates mentioned, the band will also cancel its shows at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne from Nov. 26-27, the Geelong Hill Winery on Nov. 30 and the Brisbane Entertainment Center Dec. 2.

The band's 2013 New Zealand Tour was also affected by McVie's unfortunate cancer diagnosis. The shows at the Vector Arena in Auckland from Dec. 6-7 will also be canceled.

Both Australian and New Zealand fans are sad about the tour's cancellation, as a result of one the band members' cancer scare.
