The boxing public continues to feel anticipation and eagerness to find out more information about Floyd Mayweather Jr's next fight. However, the unbeaten boxer also knows how to keep everyone even more excited by only giving hints and little details here and there.

On Thursday, during a Mayweather Promotions event at the Little Creek Casino, he hinted a few more details about his next fight. "Whoever it's going to be, it's going to be a solid guy," Mayweather said when asked about his next fight. Mayweather also stated that he would be fighting twice in 2014, in May and in September.

Now that we are all aware that Mayweather will fight a solid guy in his next fight, it now leaves a question of whether he would face the ever-favourite British boxer Amir Khan. We all know that Khan seemed a delicate fighter who has lost twice in his last four fights. Khan has always been very vocal of his interest of fighting Mayweather, but will the five-division world champion ever consider fighting him?

So if Mayweather's next fight is not going to be Khan, then the only solid fighters that he could fight next are the likes of Danny Garcia, Devon Alexander, and Keith Thurman. Some even suggested of Mayweather having a bout with Miguel Cotto. Let's not also forget the Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao who, some think, had vindicated his last two losses, with his win against Brandon Rios on Nov. 23 in Macau, China.

As for the venue, we all know that Mayweather's home is in Las Vegas, where he has fought his last 10 fights. However, some have recommended theO2 Arena or the Wembley Stadium in London, which we know will only happen if his next fight involves Khan. Then there are talks about having his next fight in New York City.

According to Showtime Sports big boss Stephen Espinoza, Mayweather is very much interested in having New York City, even if it is not for his forthcoming fight. "New York is one of the few places that could help elevate a Mayweather fight even more it already is," said Espinoza. The unbeated boxer last fought in Atlantic City in 2005.
