The Floyd Mayweather Jr.-Amir Khan bout is going to happen, reports say. The tentative date for the big fight between the undefeated fighter and the British boxer is May 3, 2014, according to the Daily Mail UK.

The bout between Mayweather and Khan is expected to bring great revenues in both the U.S. and the UK. It has been reported prior that if the fight is finalised, it would most certainly be held in the UK because Khan has a big fan base there. However, the venue has not been decided yet. As reported by the Boxing Insider, the MGM Grand in Las Vegas has been reserved for Mayweather.

If the said event will take place in Khan's country, boxing enthusiasts and Mayweather's fans in the U.S. can see it live on Showtime Pay-Per-View (PPV). So the question is, how much are the fans willing to pay witness such fight?

Mayweather's bout with Canelo Alvarez has generated record-breaking revenue of $150 million dollars based on 2.2. million PPV buys. It has broken the record of $136 million dollars for Mayweather's fight against Oscar De La Hoya in 2007. These fights are the only PPV events to have generated more than 2 million buys.

There is no question that Mayweather definitely has an incredible star power. Can he do it with Amir Khan? Undoubtedly, for sure he can.

Meanwhile, the elder Mayweather believes that his son's fight against Khan should be an easy one. "I want my son to tear out his ass out of his frame," Mayweather Sr. told Hustleboss. "He better take Floyd because that is the only way he can get Floyd because he might not get to Devon Alexander, so his best stand is to take the one with Floyd," he added.

When Mayweather Sr. was asked if Amir Khan deserves a fight with Floyd, "he really don't deserve no fight with Floyd, but hey, I think, all these tough guy and the champions that Floyd have fought over the years, it is Floyd who deserves an easy ass fight like Amir Khan," he said.
