Floyd Mayweather Jr.: ‘I’m a Lot Wiser Now’, The Undefeated Boxer Down to the Last Five Fights
Floyd Mayweather Jr. has granted The Breakfast Club Power 105.1 radio station an interview on Nov. 20, and he was just good-humoured and buoyant in answering the questions thrown at him.
At the onset of the interview, the undefeated boxer was asked about the comment that he said pertaining to HBO. Back in 2008, the five-division world champion called HBO and its announcers a bunch of racists.
"I was young at that particular time," Mayweather told the radio station. "Sometimes, you say things that you really don't mean, you know when you're young," he added. "You know, you speak without thinking, and I am a lot older, I am a lot wiser," he said. "Me and HBO had a great relationship while it lasted," said Mayweather.
The best pound-for-pound fighter has also revealed that he is down to the last five fights of his professional boxing career, as well as with his contract with Showtime CBS. He has already fought Guerrero and Alvarez, so it will mean only three fights for him.
He said he would consider playing again if he will be given a guaranteed purse of $100 million. It is definitely all money for Mayweather.
"I'm just testing my skills right now," he said when asked about who else is out there to fight him. "The top competitors that they got out there, they still got some tough competition, it is just that they are not household names like myself," he said.
A lot of fighters have already expressed their interest of Floyd. British boxer is still hopeful to land a fight with him. Bernard Hopkins also thinks he deserve a fight with him. Then, there is dream fight against Manny Pacquiao, who had just managed to ascend after two consecutive losses with Timothy Bradley and Juan Manuel Marquez with his win against Brandon Rios.
Who do you think Floyd will fight next?
