As the highest-earning sportsman in the world from 2011 to 2012, when he made $85 million, it is not surprising to know that boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. has millions of money in the bank.

However, one quirkiness of the pound-for-pound boxer is that all his $123 million are kept in just one account, reports Business Insider. He confirmed this fact to ESPN reporter Tim Keown.

Keeping the loot in one account as if he has never heard of deposit insurance limits is part of Mayweather's fascination with cash. The champ even has a video of himself counting hundred dollar bills totaling $1 million and he even posted a video of it.

And soon the $123 million would go up to $168 million since the purse for his bout with boxer Canelo Alvarez on Sept 14 is $45 million, the largest guaranteed purse in boxing history.

The match will be held in Las Vegas.

The $45 million purse also broke his previous record of $32 million for his May 2012 fight with Miguel Cotto.

Alvarez reportedly will receive about $10 million. The disparity should not surprise non-boxing fans.

"Floyd is the biggest star in the sport and the best in the sport, and when you're the biggest star and you are the best, you get paid the most money ... So this comes along with the territory," ESPN quoted Ellerbe.
