Floyd Mayweather Jr. Making Excuses And Avoiding Fight With Him Declares British Boxer Amir Khan
Amir Khan is one of the few boxing enthusiasts who do not want to see the Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao super fight to happen. After all, he has a vested interest and selfish reason why the British pro doesn’t want to see the undefeated American and Filipino champion to slug it out on top of the ring: Khan wants Mayweather Jr. for himself and get his chance at a shot at boxing glory.
Khan has continued to call out Mayweather publicly and in a recent interview even said that Mayweather is making excuses and avoiding a fight with him.
“I think these are little excuses. I’m sure people realise that. It seems he doesn’t want to fight me,” Khan said in an article via The Telegraph. “I have the speed, dexterity, accuracy, movement, power; I think it’s something that he doesn’t really want to mix with.”
Khan went on to state that he has proven himself many times already and just waiting to hear from Mayweather. Khan also mentioned the likes of Robert Guerrero, Marcos Maidana and Victor Ortiz saying that he has a bigger name than all these boxers, who all had their shot at the American. Khan added that a fight with Mayweather can easily sell out the Wembley Stadium and that is proof that he is one of the biggest names in boxing today.
The Khan pronouncements come days after Mayweather called the slugger from Bolton, Lancashire in the United Kingdom as a no-name fighter. For the second time in as many weeks, Mayweather called out Pacquiao and confirmed that he wants to fight him on May 2, 2015— and at the same time, blasted Khan.
“My focus is Manny Pacquiao, let’s make it happen,” Mayweather Jr. said via ESNEWS on YouTube. “Amir Khan’s name holds no weight, so no one knows who Amir Khan is.”

Khan ended the interview by saying that he really believes he can beat Mayweather owing to his development as a boxer. Khan is coming off a convincing 12-round unanimous decision victory over American Devon Alexander at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada in the United States last Dec. 13.
“I’m getting better and stronger. I really believe I have his number and maybe Floyd knows that as well,” Khan concluded.
Will Khan get his wish of a bout with the biggest name in the sport? Or will the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao finally happen and Khan will have to wait for his opportunity for a big fight once again?
