Floyd Mayweather Jr. has finally divulged the reason a megafight against Manny Pacquiao is not going to happen for the time being.

In a recent interview with FightHype.com, Mayweather disclosed why people should quit the idea of him fighting the Filipino boxer.

"We all know the Pacquiao fight, at this particular time, will never happen," Mayweather said.

"And the reason why the fight won't happen is because I will never do business with Bob Arum again in life," he added.

Manny Pacquiao is being promoted by Arum. Thus, people can stop talking about a Mayweather-Pacquiao fight as long as the Filipino boxer is associated with the Hall of Fame promoter.

Mayweather spent most of his career with Arum's Top Rank. He left Top Rank in 2006 after a contract buyout reportedly worth $750,000.

Another reason Mayweather is not fascinated about fighting Pacquaio is because he is not pleased with the Filipino boxer's pay-per-view numbers. He said he would like to see Pacquiao's pay-per-view sales increase. Can you think of a fighter that Mayweather fought who has larger pay-per-view sales than Pacquiao with the exception of Oscar De La Hoya?

Canelo Alvarez, Rober Guerrero, Ricky Hatton, and Miguel Cotto among others were able to land a fight with him without even considering their pay-per-view sales.

Mayweather is also aware that the fighter, who just won via unanimous decision over Brandon Rios in Macau, is currently battling some tax issues and he thinks that it an additional factor Pacquiao and his camp are eager to talk him into a fight.

Regarding Pacquiao's alleged tax case, the U.S. government is so stern and strict that if the Filipino boxer really owes the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) huge amount of money, shouldn't he be already hunted down for years in question, which is from 2006 to 2010.

Mayweather revealed that he will fight twice in 2014, one in May and one in September. British boxer Amir Khan remains the favorite. With a bit of luck, Mayweather is going to make an official announcement about his next opponent in the coming weeks.
