All bets are off as Marcos Maidana tries to put a dent on Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s immaculate record.

Boxing's pound for pound king has vowed to knock out the foe he conquered four months ago via unanimous decision. He is hoping to silence critics who said that the king has lost his step and was almost taken to the brink by the relentless Argentine. And being relentless is what will propel Maidana to snatch back the WBA welterweight belt at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

"He knows that I know how to beat him," said Maidana, who is making $3m for the match. "I will not make any mistakes this time and the pressure will be on him in every round - I will get to him. I will beat him and I can tell that he knows this."

What does Maidana have to do to put an end to the 46-win streak of Money Mayweather?

1. Bring the offense

Maidana built on what Miguel Cotto displayed during his fight with Mayweather and needs to replicate the pressure on offense to force Mayweather into an all-out boxing match and push him out of his comfort zone of counter-punching. Maidana's unwavering attacks could push him into corners and bring more fatigue to the 37-year-old's legs. Maywether labels Maidana as only a "slugger" and that his technical skills will always be his advantage but in four rounds that the Argentine won in the last fight, Money was visibly frazzled and had to scramble for defense.

2. Conquer fatigue

If Maidana can bring 12 rounds of offense just like he did in the four pounds he clearly won in the last fight, he has a chance to make boxing history. During fight night, Maidana is reportedly weighing 157 pounds as promised by his handlers. He is 11 pounds lighter as compared to their last fight in May and that may just be the key to last him longer. Mayweathjer on the other hand refused to be weighed. Maidana has tomake his opportunity to count as the undefeated king has already hinted at retirement by 2015.

3. Use Foot and Hand Speed to His Advantage

Maidana is the kind of fighter that is a problem for the likes of Myaweather, speedy and relentless. Duri9ng the first fight, he found a way to land his sweeping combinations by using his foot and hand speed to get inside. With Mayweather showing his age and losing some of his vaunted mobility, it would be helpful if Maidana takes some risks and force the action. After all Money has vowed to take him out via knockout and this may just provide the Argentine the opportunity to land a lucky punch. If Mayweather indeed scores a knockout, all the more impressive given that the last time he won that way was way back against Ricky "The Hitman" Hatton.

Prediction: Maidana wins a surprising win via knockout.
