Floyd Mayweather's Britain tour is cancelled after the undefeated boxer reportedly had a visa problem preventing him from flying to London.

According to Dailymail.co.uk, Mayweather was supposed to fly to London to make an appearance in Bolton. Unfortunately, Mayweather had to cancel the event because he has been denied a visa. "The visa problem has not been specified, but he has served a recent prison sentence in Las Vegas for assaulting a former girlfriend, who is the mother of one of his children," the Web site wrote.

The Web site further reported that Mayweather was originally scheduled to come to an event in Bolton, hosted by British businessman Spencer Brown, on June 23.

Mayweather has not commented on the visa mix-up yet.

Bolton is the home town of Amir Khan. Thus, when it was announced that Mayweather has chosen Bolton as one of the six venues on the Europe leg of his world tour, the boxing rumour mill went overdrive because it could mean that the fight between him and Khan is moving closer to culmination.

Recently, Khan said in an interview with BBC Radio 5 Live that he would love to fight Mayweather at the Wembley Arena. "The biggest state in boxing is the MGM Arena in Las Vegas, but after that I think it has to be Wembley, it's huge," Khan told the radio show.

"Let's try and force Floyd Mayweather to come to England and fight me here."

"I am going to try and force that upon Golden Boy Promotions, Al Haymon, my manager and adviser and I am going to tell him 'look how big this event here is in Wembley, why can't we do a show like this," Khan said.

If Mayweather will not be able to sort out his visa problem or worse, if the ban is a permanent one, Khan's dream of fighting the unbeaten boxer in his home turf isn't likely to happen.
