Foes Turned Friends: Taylor Swift Spotted at Shake Shack With Lorde
Well, it appears as if there isn't really any bad blood between Taylor Swift and Lorde. The country crooner was spotted with the "Royals" singer at a Shake Shack in the Big Apple. According to onlookers, the curly-haired brunette was all smiles with the "Red" singer who she had dissed back in an interview in October.
New Zealand native, Lorde, might have made it to the Billboard top charts but she certainly made a name for herself after dissing a few celebrities. One singer that Lorde managed to diss was country crooner, Taylor Swift.
"Taylor Swift is so flawless, and so unattainable, and I don't think it's breeding anything good in young girls," said Lorde in the Metro magazine October 2013 issue of New Zealand, adding, "I'm never going to be like Taylor Swift, why can't I be as pretty as Lorde?' That's f-king bulls-t."
However, Lorde had backpedalled with her comment. On Lorde's Tumblr account, the "Royals'" singer clarified her statement about Taylor Swift.
"What I meant was: there's a lot of importance placed on physical perfection in this industry, and I wish my favourite stars didn't look perfect because I think fans (me included) have these feelings of worthlessness, like they'll never be as pretty/talented/whatever, as a result of this intense photoshop culture and the endless strive for perfection," stated Lorde.
Thankfully, Taylor Swift wasn't one to hold a grudge against Lorde. Last Monday, Swift was spotted at the Manhattan Madison Avenue grabbing a shake at the Shake Shack where coincidentally Lorde was too. One fan had managed to snap a photo of the singers, check out the photo here.
Hopefully with TSwift having rubbed elbows with Lorde, the feud involving Swift's BFF, Selena Gomez, would sizzle down. As "Selenators" would recall, Lorde had dissed Gomez for her song "Come & Get It."
"I'm a feminist, and the theme of her song is, 'When you're ready, come and get it from me,'" the "Royals" said Lorde, adding, "I'm sick of women being portrayed this way."
Of course, Gomez retaliated stating, "That's not feminism. She's not supporting other women. That's my honest opinion, that's what I would say to her if I saw her."
Should Taylor Swift act as a referee between Lorde and Selena Gomez?
