Food enthusiasts should mark Oct. 15 and 16 in their calendars.

The Taronga Food Festival, also known as Crave Sydney International Food Festival, will delight gastronomes that weekend at the zoo's main entrance plaza.

One can expect a galore of great food and boutique drinks while watching cooking demonstrations from culinary experts. Seafood lovers will be treated to sumptuous dishes while baking enthusiasts can learn from the various cooking demonstrations.

Taronga Zoo's newly designed lawns are an added attraction as families can enjoy the culinary treats picnic style.

As an added attraction, visitors will get to meet Taronga's favorite animals, such as the pythons, echidnas and possums and the well-loved baby salt-water crocodiles.

Live jazz bands and other presentations will add to the entertainment of the guests.

Meanwhile, the Ausgrid Zoo Month runs through Oct. 30. Visit Taronga Zoo and get a chance to meet and play with virtual Nala, the Australian Sea Lion, learn how you can save energy in your homes, or how you can help preserve marine life.
