Football: England Manager Roy Hodgson Hopes Arsenal Midfielder Wilshere Can Replicate Club Form On International Stage
England manager Roy Hodgson hopes that Arsenal's Jack Wilshere will be able to replicate his form at club level and take it to the international scene.
The Stevenage native started out young with the Three Lions, earning his first cap as a 20-year-old in 2010.
However, he has suffered from three major injuries, at the very least, which had a negative impact to his playing career.
"For sure there is an opportunity for Jack," said Hodgson.
"He has been very unlucky with injuries. It has only been in the last six months that he could be selected."
"It's been very encouraging for me to see him playing pain-free and without fitness issues."
Wilshere has apparently recovered form a hairline fracture on his left foot that he incurred in March.
"I went to Arsenal the other night and saw Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain playing well down the right and Jack playing well down the middle."
"So I have high hopes of people like Jack. It leads you to believe and hope he could do the same in an England shirt."
