Former "The Bachelorette" contestant Julien Hug dead, at 35
Julien Hug, a fomer The Bachelorette contestant was found dead in Riverside County, California.
According to a family spokesperson, Julien Hug's body was discovered on Wednesday by authorites forty-five (45) miles off Highway 74 in Riverside County. Hug was 35.
The San Diego restaurateur was among the 30 bachelors to compete for the heart of Jillian Harris on season five of The Bachelorette in 2009. Hug reached the season's second Rose Ceremony where he was subsequently eliminated.
Julien is the son of San Diego restaurateurs Bertrand and Denise Hug, owners of the Mille Fleurs and Bertrand at Mister-A's. He appears in a YouTube video promoting the Hug family business.
Hug went missing on Monday. A search party was organized by authories to look for him in the Joshua Tree National Park. According to his father Bertrand, Julien was driving to Palm Desert, California when his phone went dead as he was driving on Highway 74. A vehicle resembling the description of Hug's was found nearby.
Hug's cause of death is yet to be known, with authorities set to conduct an autopsy.
