Former NBA Star Pays Mistress A Hefty Lot of Money
Former NBA Star Stephon Marbury has reportedly paid his mistress a hefty lot of money.
For those who don't know the entire story, well, it all started back in 2006. Marbury, who was still playing for the New York Knicks then, had an affair with his personal chef Thurrayah.
The two got into a legal agreement once the affair was over. Marbury agreed to pay his mistress $900,000 in exchange for her silence and to make sure that their affair will never be known to the general public.
Apparently, Marbury had only paid his mistress a total of $600,000. Thurrayah claimed that Marbury stopped paying her in 2010, the very main reason why she took the case to the court. In the long run, the judge ruled that Marbury is still obliged to pay the remaining balance. Recently, according to TMZ, Marbury has already paid up. Insteady of paying only $300,000, which is a lot of money, Marbury paid his ex-mistress a grand total of $341, 153, including penalty fees.
Who would ever get into an agreement that cost nearly $1 million dollars just to keep your mouth shut?
This whole infidelity thing is a total waste of money. Money spent wrong. Wealth invested in nothing. Not to mention, Marbury paid $900,000 worth of silence over an affair which everyone knows now. Isn't it ironic?
During the prime of his NBA career, Stephon Marbury played for the Minnesota Timberwolves, New Jersey Nets, Phoenix Suns, New York Knicks, and lastly, the Bolton Celtics. It was in January 2010 when he announced that he had signed with Shanxi Zhongyu Brave Dragons of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). He joined the Foshan Dralions in December 2010. Right now, Marbury is currently playing for the Beijing Ducks.
