The divorce proceedings between former top seed, Andre Agassi and actress, Brooke Shields may have been relatively easy but the former child star revealed in recent interview how the tennis pro threatened her as they were going through the proceedings.

She was co-hosting an episode of “Today” this week when she made her shocking revelations on how her ex-husband had threatened her while going through the process.

With host, Willie Geist, Shields was speaking on divorce segment to celebrity lawyer, Laura Wasser when she quoted what her ex-husband told her. Wasser is divorcelawyer to Angelina Jolie, Ryan Reynolds, Ashton Kutcher and Kim Kardashian.

Sharing her own divorce experience, Shields emphasized why she’s no longer married to Agassi and never wanted to stay married to the top seed.

"I am divorced and mine was very quick and relatively easy," Shields said, according to the LA Times, before adding, "but it was an interesting thing because he quote unquote, did say to me, 'Be happy we don't have children or I would not have made this easy for you.'

At this point, this is when Shields noted why she’s glad she no longer shares life with the top ace.

"Therein lies why I'm not there anymore," she continued.

But the former child star explained that not all bad things came out of that marriage. Shields noted what she learned from her first marriage as she pointed out how she found her own self, “individualized from my mother ... There was a lot of confidence I needed to gain and I was able to do that through my first husband."

Shields and Agassi got married in 1997 and they stayed together for two years until they got divorced in 1999. The 48-year old star known best for her role in Pretty Baby (1978) remarried in 2001 to TV writer and producer, Chris Henchy.

While Shields never had a child with the top seed, the former child star has two daughters with Henchy. Andre married fellow tennis player, Steffi Graf in the same year and the couple has a boy and a girl.
