Former U.S. Pres.Bush Goes Home after Heart Operation but some Doctors say 'Stent Procedure' Unwarranted
Some Doctors say former President Bush Heart Operation was Unnecessary
After a brief stay at the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas for a heart operation, former U.S. President George Bush is "doing great" says Laura Bush.
Mr. Bush is the 43rd president of the United States of America. Nonetheless, he just had a heart procedure done that nearly 500,000 other Americans have gone through. And some doctors are asking if it was necessary, after Bush walked in for an annual checkup at the Cooper Clinic in Dallas.
Earlier the senior George Bush was also reportedly ill after a bout with bronchitis. Reports say that the Mr. Bush himself was rather "antsy" going in for the operation himself.
However, some doctors say that Mr. Bush was another number in the U.S. medical system that is treating ahead of confirming symptoms. For example. Mr. Bush had no prior history of heart disease and was an avid jogger, and mountain biker. Insiders in the hospital system say that patients like President Bush are treated as a preventive measure rather than a fix after an appropriate diagnosis.
The costs of these invasive procedures that treat early diseased conditions like the placement of a stent in the coronary artery are what's pushing up the cost of medical care, including the national medical systems - Medicare and Medicaid.
These doctors say that diagnoses should be confirmed instead of coming up with treatment for early breast cancer, early heart disease, and early prostate cancer. They advocate that more money should be spent on research, the universities and graduate students and it is eventually the university research that capitalizes on the research.
Conducting invasive procedures on patients without proper research can be detrimental. There are three options for coronary heart disease, including the one that President Bush received, medication coronary artery bypass graft (CABG). Coronary artery disease is the result of arteries around the heart become harder.
His experience with a heart stent, leaves President George Bush in a bind with an ongoing debate about who should get what. Luckily, George Bush will not be needing a $1 million transplantation for defective heart problems like his crony Dick Cheney.
George Bush and Laura Bush will be joined by their daughter and granddaughter. The Bush family will be hosting a 'sip and see' party for guests to see the latest addition to the Bush family.
Laura Bush adds that former President Bush is not one to take rest. President Bush's spokesman said that Mr. Bush will returm to his formal duties by Thursday.
At any rate, former President George Bush will be experiencing the benefits of tax dollars that moved him from an office check up to a catheterization table. This procedure would be conducted in the same way as other 67 year-olds, reports The Daily Beast.
