'The Fosters' season 5 update: Airtime, season 4B updates, previous season stats
With “The Fosters” season 4B arriving Jan. 31 at 8/7c in the US (Feb. 1 at 12PM AEDT), the makers of the show, to fans’ utter delight, have announced the renewal of the family drama with a fifth season. The move will see “The Fosters” crossing the 100-episode mark, sans a hint of doubt.
The series returns along with Freeform’s “Happily Ever After?” season 2 (name changed to “The Twins: Happily Ever After?”), with “Bachelor” season 20 stars Emily and Haley Ferguson in the lead. “Happily Ever After?” has been scheduled to air on March 20 at 9/8c in the US (March 21 at 1PM AEDT).
The first half of “The Fosters” season 4 did fairly well with a total of 891,000 viewers. According to a Variety report, season 4A averaged with a 0.38 live and same-day Nielsen rating among adults aged between 18 and 49. The midseason finale, dated Aug. 29, 2016, had a 0.44 demo rating and recorded a total of 0.99 million viewers in the US alone. It ran a total of 10 episodes.
Variety further reported that the show had received a Television Academy Honors Award and a GLAAD Media Award. “The Fosters’” is produced by Nuyorican Productions and Freeform and executive produced by Jennifer Lopez, Paige, Joanna Johnson, Benny Medina and Greg Gugliotta.
TV Line additionally reported that Freeform has announced the return of “Young & Hungry” and “Baby Daddy” as well. The new episodes will run in the US on March 13, 2017. Yet another show, “The Bold Type,” has also been announced and is expected to debut in summer in the US.
“The Fosters” cast includes Teri Polo, Sherri Saum, Hayden Byerly, Noah Centineo, David Lambert, Maia Mitchell, Danny Nucci and Cierra Ramirez. The show will be available for viewing in the US exclusively on the Freeform Live stream network. Viewers in Australia can watch the show on Fox8.
