Summer is in full swing in the northern hemisphere and FOX channel is gearing up towards the colder months when the weather will bring people back inside and cuddling up on your couch in front of the television feels more conducive after all the outdoor summer activities. The network has announced the airing dates of their returning TV shows as well as the airing dates for pilot episodes of a host of brand new series.

The fall season kicks off for FOX with "Utopia" a reality series based on a Dutch show with the same name. The concept revolves around 15 characters who are left isolated on an undeveloped place for an entire year where they are left to build their own small society. See the series preview below (video)

While some shows are returning strong for new seasons and others have been green lit for pilots, one FOX show has been cancelled even before airing the pilot episode. Fantasy series "Hieroglyph" set in ancient Egypt has reportedly been dropped from this fall's roster of new FOX shows.

Elsewhere on the boob tube, "Orphan Black" has been renewed for its third season with 10 episodes for 2015. BBC has also renewed another show," Broadchurch" the British version of the new FOX series "Gracepoint."
