It has big blue eyes, pointy nose, chasing mice and digging holes. That's the catchy lines behind YouTube's viral video "The Fox" with more than 31 million hits 15 days. It was released by "Norway's Lonely Island."

Hilarious and infectious, "The Fox" video was intended to be a promo clip for the new season of the Norwegian TV presenters, Bard and Vegard Ylvisaker or better known as the Ylvis Brothers. Produced as an item for the third series of their comedy show, I Kveld Med Ylvis (Tonight with Ylvis), now the hot viral song has entered the US Hot 100 singles chart in America.

When asked about the song, the duo says, "Immediately when we put it up, the first comments on YouTube said, 'This is the new Gangnam (Style), this is the new viral.' It was like people sensed it right away and we didn't."

It is indeed the next Gangnam Style with their silly animal costume and dance move as they prance about in the woods, and asked the perennial question: "What Does The Fox Say?"

"Grandpa, what does the fox say?"

The duo behind the hit song were already well known in Norway when they got a chance to work with Stargate, Norwegian's top studio wizard. The New York-based producers is famous for their work on hit singles by Beyonce, Katy Perry and Rihanna.

What happened after the video was uploaded is an exact opposite of what the whole idea of the "The Fox".

"We thought, to make this funny, we should do a song where we misuse Stargate's talent so we'd come back to our show and say, 'This is all we could come up with - a stupid song about a fox'', says the brothers.

Now the song has been shared more than 71,000 times in adifferent social media platforms according to Billboard's Hot 100 chart. Talk shows like Jimmy Kemmel and Ellen have requested the duo to appear on high-profile US talk shows but turned down the offer due to prior commitments for their show.

"It was released to get some attention in Norway," Bard Ylvisaker told Billboard.

"Beyond that we hadn't even thought about it, it's really crazy."
