Frankie Muniz of 'Malcolm In The Middle':10 Reasons Why He Wants To Buy LA Clippers
The "Malcolm in the Middle" star, who was dubbed as "one of Hollywood's most bankable teens" in 2003, took to his Facebook page to express his disgust at the racist comment of then LA Clippers owner, David Sterling, against black people. When he learned that Sterling has been "banned for life" from NBA and forced to sell his team, Muniz were among those who wants to buy.
Clippers fans are understandably curious why the star wants to buy the team. In his Facebook page, Frankie Muniz tells you why.
1) Although from New Jersey, Frankie Muniz has been a die-hard LA Clippers fan since 1994.
2) He first knew of the team through NBA Live '95 in Super Nintendo.
3) Muniz admitted not knowing the starting line up of the team back then, so he deleted the players and replaced them with his mom, dad and his cats (Poly and Pete).
4) He spent many days going to sports stores to find any Clippers memorabilia which back then was rare. When he finally found them, he bought everything that had a Clippers logo on it.
5) In 1999 when he went to Los Angeles to film "Malcolm in the Middle", he went to a Clippers game and bought the Pooh Richardson jersey and shorts, which he still treasures up to this day.
6) During interviews as a teen, Muniz had always said that he wanted to own the LA Clippers.
7) The star eventually moved from New Jersey to Los Angeles and became a season ticket holder.
8) Muniz made it to every Clippers game during 2000-2008. He even begged his "Malcolm" producers to move his filming schedule so he won't miss any game.
9) In 2008, he moved from LA to live in Phoenix, Arizona. Although he had missed the games he still confessed to be a Clippers fan.
10) Muniz admitted he was constantly ridiculed for being a Clippers fan because they were a "bad" L.A. team. However it didn't bother him. For him all the losses made the rare win much more enjoyable.
Frankie Muniz said he has never been a fan of David Sterling. He has been a fan of the players and coaches, and even urged the players to win for their fans and for themselves. Muniz feels that this is the year when the Clippers can win an NBA Championship because they have the best players.
