It’s Manny Pacquiao vs. Chris Algieri on Sunday, Nov. 23 but leave it to Freddie Roach to trash-talk another boxer even if he’s not involved in the upcoming fight of the Filipino at the Cotai Arena, Venetian Resort in Macau. The celebrated trainer was asked about the probable bout in 2015 versus Floyd Mayweather Jr. and he did not hold back in continuing to criticise the undefeated American, whom he has accused before of running away from the super fight against Pacquiao.

In a recent interview with boxingnews24.com, Roach has managed to bash not one but two American boxers— Algieri and Mayweather Jr.

“[Sometimes] I tell Manny you don’t want to beat up Algieri too bad because then Mayweather is just going to run a little bit more. He is scared of us know and he is going to be more scared after we destroy this guy,” Roach stated via an interview with boxingnews24.com. “But Mayweather may show some balls and step up to the plate.”

In the same interview, Roach predicted a third round knockout victory for Pacquiao and added that Algieri will try to run away from the Filipino but that his ward won’t allow it. The trainer also mentioned that Pacquiao’s strength and power is back and that Pacquiao’s speed will be too much for Algieri.

This is not the first time that the 54-year-old Roach has expressed his thoughts about Algieri saying in the early part of the training camp that Pacquiao’s sparring partners are better than Algieri. Roach, who has been with Pacquiao since 2001, has also accused Mayweather Jr. running away from the fight many times in the past.

The latest update on the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao front is that some well-known and powerful personalities are trying to make the super fight happen in 2015 as revealed by Top Rank Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Bob Arum last Tuesday. According to Arum, CBS CEO Leslie Moonves is involved in the negotiations and that the networks, HBO Boxing for Pacquiao and CBS/Showtime for Mayweather Jr., are already talking.

Algieri (20-0-0, 8 KOs) and Pacquiao (56-5-2, 38 KOs) will battle for the World Boxing Organization (WBC) World welterweight title. The undefeated American gained his shot at the big money fight against Pacquiao after defeating Russian Ruslan Provodnikov via unanimous decision last June 16, 2014. Pacquiao is fighting for the second time in Macau beating Brandon Rios via unanimous decision in the same venue last Nov 11, 2013. The Filipino is coming off another unanimous decision victory in a rematch with Timothy Bradley last April 12, 2014.

A day before the Manny Pacquiao bout in Macau, it appears that Roach still doesn’t think too highly of the undefeated Americans Chris Algieri and Floyd Mayweather Jr.
