There have been fresh probes issued in reference with Sammy Yatim's death on how officers react to situations which are potentially volatile.

The reviews are going to be led by a few men who possess a strong personality. The reviews are said to be focusing on several facets of the prosecution. On the other hand, the probes may end up giving confusing results as it is yet to be made clear how the conduct of an officer is going to be controlled on the spot.

Bill Blair, the police chief of Toronto, is going to conduct an internal probe on what exactly happened when Sammy Yatim was allegedly shot dead by a police officer. Retired Justice Dennis O'Connor is going to conduct another investigation on the procedures of the Toronto police and how the force is implemented.

Mr Blair's is a routine investigation as every case filed under the SIU is reviewed in such a way. He is going to deal with an extremely broad purview as he will cover the incident that night along with the conducts of the people present on the spot. This includes the way Mr Yatim might have behaved at that night as well. However, Mr Blair is not going to deal with James Forcillo's conduct.

Over 20 police officers were present when Mr Yatim was shot dead. Some of them were seen kick shell casing in the bystander's cell phone video that has already got viral online. Mr Blair is going probe in to the involvement of the other officers present there. If proved guilty, they have to face charges in accordance with the Police Services Act.

Mr O'Connor is believed to bring in more authenticity in the investigation process. The Yatim family has expressed satisfaction over his inclusion in the investigation procedure.

Mr Yatim was allegedly shot dead last week by Mr Forcillo, an on-duty police officer. Mr Forcillo, who has been released on bail, is charged for a 2nd degree murder.
