'Frozen' 2: Darker Plot Can Be Borrowed From Original Snow Queen Story, Evil Troll To Cast A Spell --Report
"Frozen 2" is one of the most anticipated animation films. Though less is known about the plot of the film, it is being said that it could have darker theme, as compared to the original. It may be based on the original Snow Queen story.
According to Movie Pilot, Frozen's second instalment can be adapted from Hans Christian Andersen's evil fairy tale. The story of "The Snow Queen" features Gerda, as the main protagonist and delves into the themes of good and evil. An evil troll has devised a magic mirror, which only shows bad aspects of things. Anyone who sees in the mirror gets to see his or her evil side. Gerda's friend Kai gets hold of the mirror and becomes cruel and aggressive. He is later kidnapped by queen and is made to forget all about Gerda. Gerda then goes in search of Kai and visits Snow Queen's palace. She kisses Kai and breaks Snow Queen's spell.
Even Enstraz speculates that Disney, which sells beautiful fairy tales to children, can take a little darker route this time. "The Snow Queen" is one of the highest acclaimed fairy tales and has been published in many versions. Disney is yet to confirm the story of "Frozen 2," though it has come to surface earlier, that "Frozen" characters Elsa, Anna, Olaf and Kristoff may make their return.
"Frozen" was a huge box office success and won the 2013 Academy Award for the Best Animated Feature. It took inspiration from Andersen's fairy tale "The Snow Queen," but the story underwent numerous treatments, thus making it much different from the original story. It tells the story of a fearless princess who takes a journey to find her estranged sister. It included voices of Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff, Josh Gad and Santino Fontana. Christophe Beck. Jennifer Lee, and Chris Buck wrote the film as well as directed it.
"Frozen" came under controversy in September, when author Isabella Tanikumi filed a litigation for copyright infringement of $250 million against Disney, as reported by FoxnewsLationo. She claimed that the story was based on her 2010 novel. A short animated film "Frozen Fever" will be released in 2015.
