"Smart is the new sexy," says the hit CBS sitcom about geek scientists, "The Big Bang Theory."

The sitcom often depicts the life of nerds in a funny manner, and often they do this at the comic book store. They gawk at the sight of a girl (Kaley Cuoco as Penny) at the book store, and they spend a lot of time and money on their favorite video games.

Science and science fiction are the central themes of their debates, and their brain wires mess up when they disagree on who should keep a "Lord of the Rings" memento. Some people find it hard to catch up with them, but they do not need fellow non-geeks to keep the fun going in their lives. Still, some of them are hopeless romantics who try to be their best when in a relationship.

There is nothing funny with a man or a woman who understands how the world works in terms of physical laws. It only gets hilarious when they speak of funny things that non-geeks are able to relate to. And they, too, realize that the geeks and the non-geeks can be pretty much the same, too (e.g. Jim Parsons as Sheldon Cooper gets jealous because his mom spends more time with his friends than him).

They are witty and quick to make jokes. (Bazinga!) They enjoy their own brand of fun. And sometimes, they are quite easy to understand. Perhaps the reason why there are several nerd and geek memes making the rounds on the internet is because the funniest memes are created by the nerds and the geeks themselves.
