‘Furious 8’ star Ludacris visits Abu Dhabi, hosts charity gala
Chris Bridges, who is professionally known as Ludacris, recently went to the United Arab Emirates for the Formula One Grand Prix 2015. While in Dubai, the “Furious 8” actor also hosted an invitation-only charity gala.
On Saturday, Nov. 29, Ludacris and his family were in Abu Dhabi to attend a charity ball at the Ritz Carlton. The “Furious 8” actor’s Ludacris Foundation partnered with Beautiful: African, Arabic, Caribbean (BAC).
In 2016, BAC will launch a digital content channel to bring focus on the next generation of faces in programming. The purpose of the organisation’s partnership with the Ludacris Foundation is to provide a platform for emerging artists from the Middle East, Africa and the Caribbean.
During the charity gala in Abu Dhabi, Ludacris wore a black and white T-shirt, ripped jeans and black Gucci shoes. Other celebrities who attended the event were Sandra “Pepa” Delton from the hip hop trio Salt-N-Pepa and DJ Mohamed Moretta, Gulf News reports.
Along with Ludacris were his mother Roberta Shields, his wife Eudoxie Mbouguiengue and his friends Marco Andretti and Marta Krupa. Kevin Hart and his fiancée Eniko Parrish were also with them when they went to Dubai after watching the Formula One race, according to E News.
The event also appeared to be a vacation for Ludacris with his family and friends as he is not currently filming any TV series or film. In September, he played Officer McKnight in the second episode of the Fox hit series “Empire” Season 2.
The last film Ludacris starred in was “Furious 7,” which was released on April 3. It starred Vin Diesel, the late Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Tyrese Gibson, Lucas Black, Kurt Russell, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Elsa Pataky and Gal Gadot, among others.
It has been confirmed that Ludacris will reprise his role as Tej in “Furious 8,” which will hit theatres on April 14, 2017. The eighth installment will also feature Diesel, Johnson, Statham, Gibson and Rodriguez.
