'Future Stars Pack' coming to 'WWE 2K16' this month, adds Samoa Joe to the game
The “Future Stars Pack” for “WWE 2K16” has finally received a release date. This piece of downloadable content (DLC) will be available on Jan. 26 and features five new playable characters, one of which is the fan-favourite Samoa Joe.
Joining the “Samoan Submission Machine” are two tag teams: Los Matadores and former NXT Tag Team Champions Blake and Murphy. It’s a bit odd to see the two members of Los Matadores in the “Future Stars Pack,” as the duo have been in the main roster for quite sometime now.
Fans will be able to purchase the DLC for US$7.99 (AU$11.51), according to the official website of WWE 2K. Those who purchased the season pass for US$24.99 (AU$36.00) will be able to get the content right away.
This new release is a one-man DLC pack to many wrestling fans. Samoa Joe is currently one of the more popular superstars in the NXT roster, but he was already well-known before arriving in the WWE brand. He made his mark in wrestling during his tenure in Ring of Honor (ROH) and Total Nonstop Action (TNA), where fans were impressed with his interesting mix of power moves, high-flying leaps and submission holds.
He recently turned heel – the wrestling term for bad guy – and took on NXT champion Finn Balor in the “NXT Takeover: London” event. While the superstar lost, he looked very strong in defeat, further cementing his place as a fan favourite in the roster.
Fans anxious to see the new superstars are in luck, as Attack of the Fanboy has confirmed that new images will be coming soon. These images will be posted on the social media accounts of WWE games, so fans better follow them if they want to see what Samoa Joe looks like in the game.
“WWE 2K16” is available now and is one of the best wrestling games to come out in a while. Though fans have to wait for a few more weeks for the DLC pack, they can currently download the “New Moves” and “Legends” packs, both of which will be cheaper if fans pick up the season pass.
