Game Of Thrones Cast Members Spotted in Northern Ireland For Season 5 Filming
The next season of HBO's hit fantasy series "Game of Thrones" is still several months away but the hype just won't die down. Fans are eagerly awaiting both the next season of the series as well as the sixth instalment of the book series. While the anticipation is building, Northern Ireland, one of the main locations for filming has been welcoming various members of the cast in the past few weeks and evidence shows that filming is in full swing.
Portstewart Strand, a coastal area in the Northern Irish territory seems to have become the focus of filming in the past couple of days. Fan site Winter is Coming has gathered a number of photos contributed by fans and onlookers who have come to witness the filming.
A group of yellow armour-clad men were spotted atop horses shooting scenes along the coast. Several fans have also tweeted about spotting Jerome Flynn who plays the sellsword Bronn, taking a dip in the water.
Ellaria Sand, the Paramour of the ill-fated Dornish Prince Oberyn, has also been spotted in Northern Ireland and a fan has posted a photo on Instagram which appears to be a site plan for Portstewart Strand in which it is labelled Dorne Beach. The map also marks out an area called Ellaria Camp.
The call sheet posted by user @niamhbradley also points out a location where a scene is filmed for Jamie Lannister and Bronn as well as a fight sequence involving the Sand Snakes.
Meanwhile, Gwendoline Christie and Daniel Portman who play the characters of Brienne of Tarth and Podrick Payne respectively, have also been spotted together in another part of Northern Ireland, this time in Sallagh Braes. In the same location, some Knights of the Vale were also reportedly spotted in the company of an un-armoured party of three including one woman and two men. Based on where the story left off, Brienne and Pod are close to the Vale in their attempt to look for Sansa but unexpectedly bumped into Arya and the Hound. The ensuing tussle resulted in a duel between Brienne and The Hound which left the Hound mortally injured. Arya managed to escape and go her own way while Brienne and Pod continue their search this time for Arya who is now confirmed alive and the still missing Sansa Stark.
Members of the Night's watch including Kit Harrington who plays Jon Snow have also been spotted in the country this time in and around Belfast.
Season 5 of "Game of Thrones" is expected to come out in Spring 2015 while the next book, Winds of Winter is also expected to be released next year.
