After season 3's "Red Wedding," HBO's epic fantasy series "Game of Thrones" season 4 is giving its fans what they always wanted, and that is to end Joffrey Baratheon's tyranny. GOT season 4 episode "The Lion and the Rose" has broken torrent's record thanks to Joffrey's "Purple Wedding," a wedding with a twist that Twitter went into a meltdown.

George R.R. Martin latest shocking twist plot lefts its fans with their jaw dropped as Joffrey was struggling for air. Known as TV's most hated character, the King of the Iron Throne was fatally poisoned at his very own wedding that led its fans into shock and joy as they vent it out on Twitter.

But the King did not go without accusing anyone, on his last dying breath Joffrey accused his uncle Tyrion Lannister played by Emmy-winner Peter Dinklage of poisoning him. "The Lion and the Rose" ended with a tense cliffhanger as Tyrion was taken to the dungeon for interrogation.

After a tense and explosive episode, #GameofThrones and #Purplewedding was the most trending topics on Twitter. Fans flooded the social networking site with their reactions and expectation for the upcoming episodes as they rejoice for Joffrey's death.

"Twilight" star Anna Kendrick tweeted: "Just watched Game of Thrones and now I'm in a GREAT mood. Who wants shots?!?!?"

Fans are no doubt delighted for the show's latest twist, but now they are left wondering who is behind the ingenious plot. Some sites are speculating that the Queen of Thorns, Margaery Tyrell's grandmother, is responsible while other speculations points to Cersie Lannister, the Red Viper and Sansa Stark. But whoever it was, fans are thankful for him or her.

How many times can you watch @GameOfThrones' Purple Wedding before it's weird? It might be too late already... #PurpleWedding #LookThePie — Brittany Sandler (@besandler) April 17, 2014

I fear Bed, Bath and Beyond might sue Game of Thrones for putting a dent in this year's wedding registry season. #GOT #PurpleWedding
