Plenty of love memes and romantic fan art have been created and spread online, particularly via Tumblr, to "ship" Sansa Stark and Margaery Tyrell of Game of Thrones. How did these two characters inspire "Queer Queen Week (June 17 to 24)?"

Sansa Stark was perhaps the most hated Stark in the early beginnings of Game of Thrones on HBO. She's been called the most naïve of them all, if not the "foolest." To those who have not read "A Song of Ice and Fire" by George R.R. Martin, something very special is going on between Sansa and Margaery. Sansa adopting Margaery's hairstyle is only a discreet testament to their bigger connection. Sansa starts the series as a shallow teen only interested in her fairy tale dreams. Then Margaery Tyrell comes along.

This young widow is a cunning, carefully manipulative woman, who knows her way around politics and the game of thrones itself. Then somehow, Sansa and Margaery become friends. It is no secret HBO's Game of Thrones has often strayed from the story arcs and developments in the books. It is understandable. The TV series does not have the luxury of thousands of pages and unlimited production budget.

In the brief scenes of Margaery and Sansa, however, so much was said in between silence and confessions. For many viewers, there was some sexy spark between the two young women. This spark creates some magic out of their differences, inspiring those who can relate to launch 'Queer Queen Week' for the two female characters in social media sites.

But will HBO further explore this sexual chemistry for those who can feel it? Game of Thrones TV showrunner David Benioff has hinted more changes from the books could develop in the series, owing to the fact that they have only little time left to tell the rest of GRMM's story.

"(Isaac Hempsted Wright)'s voice is changing," Benioff said, referring to the young actor playing Bran Stark. "Everyone is getting bigger. We have this wonderful cast, but we don't have an infinite amount of time ... We don't want to become a show that outstays its welcome and tries to turn each book into three seasons," Benioff told Entertainment Weekly.

Sansa Stark is much younger in the books, but now she's looking more like a fully grown woman. Fans can expect HBO to infuse the actress' physical growth into the story. Will her story continue to be intertwined with a queen-in-the-making?
