‘Game of Thrones’ Season 4 – Meet 27 Important Characters New and Returning

"Game of Thrones" Season 4 is all set for the April 6 release date. Here is a look at the cast and important characters viewers will encounter in the upcoming season. The upcoming season may be the last for some of the important characters.

Characters # 1 and 2 - Jon Snow and Samwell Tarly

The son of the dead Ned Stark and the brother of the slain Robb Stark, Jon Snow had decided to stay with the Night's Watch in spite of what his family is facing in the realm. Will he continue to stay at the Night's Watch or find a way to take revenge? Sam is a friend of Jon, he is overweight and timid by nature but intelligent.

Characters # 3 and 4 - Margaery and Olenna Tyrell

Margarey Tyrell is to be married to Joffrey Baratheon in "Game of Thrones" Season 4. Both Margarey and Olenna Tyrell spoke to Sansa in order to find out the true nature of Joffrey. Olenna was also seen discussing the future of Sansa with Lord Varys.

Character # 5 - Daenerys Targaryen

The mother of dragons will be seen with bigger dragons and bigger challenges as she learns the ropes to rule a city.

Characters # 6, 7, 8 and 9 - Daario Naharis , Jorah Mormont, Barristan Selmy and Grey Worm

Daario Naharis is captain of the mercenary company - Second Sons. Jorah has been following Daenerys for a long time. Barristan Selmy was a former Kings Gaurd but now has joined Danerys and Grey Worm is the captain of the unsullied army.

Character # 10 - Tywin Lannister

Tywin Lannister is the head of the Lannister House and Hand of the King. It is his responsibility to ensure the peace in the seven kingdoms and safeguard Joffrey's crown.

Characters # 11 - Tyrion Lannister

The son of Tywin Lannister, he is both witty and intelligent. He will go through the most difficult time in "Game of Thrones" Season 4.

Characters # 12 - Joffrey Baratheon

Joffrey Baratheon is the king of Westeros. He is a coward by nature but pretends to be brave; his cruel nature has antagonised many.

Characters # 13 and 14 - Bronn and Shae

Bronn is a mercenary promoted to the position of Knight. His fortunes are expected to rise in "Game of Thrones" Season 4. Shae is Tyrion's mistress and will have an important role to play in the upcoming season.

Characters # 15 and 16 - Cersei and Jaime Lannister

The brother and sister duo finally reunite. Jaime has lost his arm and may be a changed man. Will the relationship between the two be the same as before? Or have recent events changed them forever?

Characters # 17 and 18 - Gregor Clegane and Sandor 'The Hound' Clegane

The Clegane brothers will be back. Gregor Clegane will be playing the character's most important role in "Game of Thrones" Season 4.

Characters # 19, 20 and 21 - Stannis Baratheon, Melisandre and Davos Seaworth

Stannis Baratheon has a claim to the throne. Melisandre and Dacos are his faithfull followers. Will Stannis turn the tide of the battle this time around or will he taste another defeat?

Characters # 22 and 23 - Arya and Bran Stark

Both the Stark children continue their journey as they search for a place for themselves in the world and find their destiny.

Characters # 24 and 25 - Oberyn Martell and Ellaria Sand

Oberyn Martell is a new character played by Pedro Pascal. He is the young prince of Dorne and is called as "Red Viper." Ellaria Sand is Oberyn Martell's mistress played by Indira Varma.

Characters # 26 and 27 - Petyr 'Littlefinger' Baelish and Lord Varys

Both Petyr Baelish and Lord Varys are behind the scene players in the "Game of Thrones." Both return in season 4 as one works hard to gain in the turmoil of the world and the other plans for the future.
