‘Game of Thrones’ Season 4 Update: Female Stars Want Bared Men Characters in the Show; Will Fans Expect More Male Nudity?
"Game of Thrones" female casts want bared male characters in the fourth installment of the HBO's famous medieval epic fantasy.
While fans are looking forward to the airing of the latest season of HBO's "Game of Thrones" casts had revealed more exciting twists in the plot including the story of the Red Wedding which served as a tease in the "Game of Thrones" Season 3. Female stars also expressed their sentiments on male nudity in the show.
"Game of Thrones," which is known for some sex and violence, is apparently getting applause and the same time criticism for the nudity which writer's defend to be necessary in the story.
Apparently, female casts have been subjects of flesh showing since the first season. On a press conference held at London early February, Sibel Kekilli, who plays the role of the prostitute Shae, and Carice van Houten, who plays the Red Priestess Melisandre, expressed that there should also be more male nudity as female characters are always seen naked while men are always clothed.
When asked if the men of the show should bare skin, Kekilli quipped a big yes and even joked about talking to the "Game of Thrones" writers about this issue.
"[Male nudity] Hell yeah! Of course it has to be functional and it mostly is. But in general that's what I like about the show, not the sex per se but the nudity is part of life," said Van Houten on the same press conference as published in The Independent website.
Meanwhile Kekilli and van Hauten shared the exciting things that will happen on their characters on the fantasy drama series. Kekilli hinted that this season will be hard for her as her character will be seen fighting. Van Houten said that Stannis has a light season this year but fans should expect more meaty scenes. The plot will also unveil a collision to a familiar world.
The extended trailer of the new season of "Game of Thrones" is already out on the popular video sharing website, YouTube.
"Game of Thrones" Season 4 Ice and Fire: The Foreshadowing will hit television screens April this year.
