Sophie Turner has reportedly said that some of the events in “Game of Thrones” Season 5 may be “more shocking than the Red Wedding.” The actress plays the role of Sansa Stark in the TV series. The show is known for its dramatic twists and untimely deaths of popular characters.
Sophie Turner revealed some details about the upcoming season of “Game of Thrones,” when she spoke to HuffingtonPost. The actress teased that the fans are going to see “a lot of blood” and “a lot of death” in Season 5. She further said that there will also be “a few familiar faces” in the upcoming season.
When talking about the character's growing relationship with Petyr Baelish, the actress said that she understood that some of the viewers may find the relationship to be “creepy.” But, for the character, the relationship is reportedly a means “to get what she wants.” Petyr will also manipulate Sansa to get what he wants. Together, the two characters are a “tag team,” Sophie Turner said.
Readers who have watched the previous season of “Game of Thrones” will remember Sansa Stark’s new look towards the end. Talking about the change, Sophie Turner said that the character has made a “conscious decision” to change. The change was reportedly made in order to “get away from her mother’s Tully roots.”
Fans of the series may find that Sansa Stark has undergone a “massive transformation” in “Game of Thrones” Season 5. The actress revealed that the transformation is not only physical but also the way the character thinks. The character is now said to have become a “massive manipulator.”
Sophie Turner also teased that there will be a traumatic scene involving her character in “Game of Thrones” Season 5. The actress did not reveal much about the scene but said that the scene was “pretty intense.”
Answering a question about the one person who would be on her death list, just like Arya Stark’s list in the show, Sophie Turner wanted Daenerys to die. The actress said that the reason was that Daenerys and her dragons were a big threat to her character. “Game of Thrones” Season 5 is set to premiere on April 12, 2015.
