"Game of Thrones" Season 4 is now down to the last three episodes and as the storyline progresses; anticipation is rising for what the season finale will bring. HBO has already renewed the series for another two seasons and eyes are already looking ahead to season 5.

The HBO Original Series has been shooting during the summer for the past four seasons and the same could be expected for season 5. Recent reports suggest that the production team has been scouting for locations in Spain, particularly in the Andalucia region. There is no word yet as to which part of Westeros will be depicted in the locations in Spain but the Andalucian region boasts of a very diverse landscape from the coast all the way up to the snowy Sierra Nevada mountain range.

Some of the most well-preserved Moorish castles are also located in Andalucia and these can easily fit into one of the locations that have yet to be seen in the series such as Dorne and HIghgarden. There are also many locations outside of Westeros that will be looking to find a real-world home base. The production crew is reportedly already in talks with a local film commission to arrange the shoot.

At present, scenes for the series have been shot in six locations. The main studio is located in Belfast, Northern Ireland where production for the series is taking place at the Titanic studios, the old shipyard where the ill-fated ship was built. WInterfell was also shot partly on location in Northern Ireland. Other locations are: Croatia where the Red Keep and King's Landing are depicted, Iceland has been a fitting location for scenes North of the Wall while Moroco and Malta have been used as the Cities of Slaver's Bay in Essos and finally, scenes were also briefly shot in Los Angeles for the bear pit in Harrenhal.

The series is staying as popular as ever with last Sunday's episode tying its series high in viewership this season, reaching 7.2 million viewers for its first airing and 8.5 million viewers for the night. The series has already out done itself by breaking records or tying viewership highs for the fourth time this season alone. The season started with the build up to the Purple Wedding but the season is expected to end with even more deaths and twists as can be predicted from the books.

It remains to be seen exactly what kingdom, territory of castle would be represented by the locations in Spain but this new development will surely help fans picture what lies ahead and build anticipation for another year of torturous waiting for the next season.
