"Game of Thrones" Season 5 is expected to see the preparations made for two big wars. Both Stannis Baratheon and Daenerys Targaryen are in a difficult situation. Respect for Jon Snow has grown after the Night's Watch mounted a successful defense at The Wall.

The following spoilers are based on the book series "A Song of Ice and Fire," written by George R. R. Martin. The TV show "Game of Thrones" is based on this series, but the producers have deviated slightly from the books in the past.

With Stannis Baratheon coming to the rescue of the Night's Watch, the battle is over and the Wildlings have surrendered. It is now time to choose the next Lord Commander through popular vote. Denys Mallister, Cotter Pyke, Janos Slynt, Othell Yarwyck, Three-Finger Hobb and Dolorous Edd are in the fray.

Several rounds of voting do not yield a clear winner in the voting. Cotter Pyke and Denys Mallister start to lose ground but they still have two-thirds of the total votes among them. Sam Tarly will take it upon himself to talk to them both and work for the good of the Night's Watch in "Game of Thrones" Season 5.

Meanwhile Jon Show is summoned by Stannis Baratheon. He wants Jon Snow to swear allegiance to him as the rightful king. In return he offers to give the name "Stark" to him and the right to be the heir and lord of Winterfell. This would be the key to the North for him. Stannis will also allow the Wildlings to cross The Wall and settle, as long as they swear to keep the peace and accept Stannis as their king.

Sam talks to Denys and Cotter Pyke in the hope that one of them withdraws. Meeting them turn by turn and understanding their position gives Sam an idea. Some clever maneuvering by Sam will get both the candidates to withdraw in support of a new candidate. Jon Snow is set to become the next commander of the Night's Watch in "Game of Thrones" Season 5.
