"Game of Thrones" Season 5 is all set to feature Petyr Baelish once again. The character is towards the end of the story arc in the books written by George R. R. Martin. The return of the character may take the fans of the franchise by surprise. [Spoiler Alert]

Petyr Baelish, also known as Little Finger, was seen in a leaked picture wearing his typical gown and holding an umbrella. What some of the fans of the franchise may find interesting is that the character will be returning to King's Landing, while in the books he was still seen at the Vale. In the book "A Feast for Crows," Petyr Baelish was seen trying to consolidate his power. With the death of his wife Lysa, he will attempt to declare himself the Lord Protector of the Vale. He will get some resistance from some of the lords of the Vale, but will convince them to allow him a trial period. The lords are asked to judge his performance in this period.

There was only a passing reference to Petyr Baelish in the book "A Dance with Dragons." This was at the time when Kevan Lannister, the new Hand of the King, considers new members to nominate for the Small Council. He was concerned that the Tyrells would dominate the council. He recalled how Petyr Baelish had a reputation for conjuring gold coins out of thin air.

The presence of the character on the sets of King's Landing may come as a surprise to the fans of the franchise. Will he once again take on the role of Master of Coin in "Game of Thrones" Season 5? Readers should note that one of the major ways that Petyr would raise money for the Iron Throne was by borrowing heavily.

The Iron Throne is already heavily indebted on account of this and the Iron Bank was last seen throwing its weight behind Stannis Baratheon. The presence of Petyr Baelish in King's Landing also raises questions about the future of another character -- Sansa Stark.

Sansa Stark had changed her name and appearance and travelled with Petyr Baelish to the Vale. She is considered to have a hand in the murder of King Joffrey by many in King's Landing and so may not return to the city. Will Sansa learn to rule in Vale in "Game of Thrones" Season 5?
