‘Game of Thrones’ Season 5 Spoilers: Tycho Nestoris Still Not In Westeros
The character Tycho Nestoris may not be visiting the continent of Westeros in "Game of Thrones" Season 5. The revelation was made by the actor Mark Gatiss, who plays the character in the popular TV show. The show is expected to air in April 2015. [Warning: Spoilers Alert!]
Mark Gatiss spoke about his role in "Game of Thrones" Season 5 at the Comic Con event in Mumbai, India. The video of the event posted on the popular social media website YouTube shows the actor talking about his role in some of his other projects like "Sherlock."
The actor shared that he had just finished filming a scene in Croatia, but the actor refused to share any details regarding the scene he filmed. The question was posed to him by one of the fans from the audience who said that Tycho Nestoris was a "strong character."
Mark Gatiss said that Tycho Nestoris appears later on in the books, but the producers decided to bring the character up in "Game of Thrones" Season 5. The actor has apparently not read the books on which the TV show is based on. He confirmed with the audience whether his character goes to The Wall.
Upon hearing a confirmation from some of the members of the audience who have read the books, Mark Gatiss was excited to know that he may have to travel to Iceland. He confessed that he did not know what was planned for the TV show. He did, however, say that he pitched the idea to the show runners that his character should be the last to survive the whole series because the "bankers survive everything."
According to the books written by George R.R. Martin on which the TV show is based, Tycho Nestoris travels to The Wall in order to negotiate a deal with Stannis Baratheon. The previous season of "Game of Thrones" showed that the Iron Bank had given its support to Stannis' claim to the Iron Throne.
Tycho Nestoris also plays an important role in securing food supplies for the Night's Watch in the books. But with Mark Gatiss confirming that he has not filmed any scenes at The Wall, fans of the franchise may only get to see the character in Braavos.
