‘Game of Thrones’ Season 5 Updates: Cersei’s Nude Scenes Is Finally Happening
After so much controversy surrounding Cersei's nude scenes, HBO's "Game of Thrones" finally got the permission for Lena Heady's character to walk naked on the streets of Kings Landing. After a compromise was made between the network and the Croatian film commissioners, the controversial nude scene is officially happening for show's upcoming season.
To be filmed in the scenic city of Dubrovnik, the "walk of shame" will start outside the Croatian city's Church of St. Nicholas through the town centre. With the condition that she will not set foot in the holy place, HBO will make its own fake set to film the nude scenes in the church.
"By order of the Croatian film commission, Cersei ... played by Lena Heady ... now hath the green light to walk the streets of Dubrovik in the nude -- as long as she never sets foot in a church," TMZ reports. "We're told the film commissioners changed their initial ruling ... upon realizing how much pleasantry "Game of Thrones" doth bring the townspeople. It also brings in a lot of copper pennies."
Based on George R.R. Martin's novel "A Dance With Dragons" from the his "Song of Fire and Ice" series, the Queen Regent will be shown walking without anything on through Dubrovnik's Stadun street to the Sponza Palace. With so many jobs brought by the show in Croatia, a compromise has been made to keep both parties happy without sacrificing the pivotal scene of the show.
Heady revealed in her recent interview that Cersei will start to fall apart in "Game of Thrones" season 5. Without Tywin Lannister and Tyrion to stop her, she will be a powerful force to be reckoned with but her new found power will also bring her down.
"Cersei's built where you meet her as this woman who seems to have it all under control-her head's very nice and she's well-dressed-and underneath it's a whirling mess," the British actress told The Daily Beast. "So we really get to see what's underneath that façade as the seasons go on, and I think next season is going to be particularly brutal for her."
"Game of Thrones" Season 5 is set to premiere on April 2015.
