'Game of Thrones' Season 6: Carice Van Houten and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau talk about Jon Snow
Perhaps the biggest talking point on “Game of Thrones” Season 6 is the fate of Jon Snow. Cast members Carice Van Houten and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau spoke about the character in recent interviews.
The cast members apparently get asked about Jon Snow very often. Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister) told Jimmy Kimmel that he tells everyone he meets that Jon Snow (Kit Harington) is dead, The Wrap reports. “Listen, he was stabbed 50 times in the heart. He’s dead,” the actor said.
Houten also joked about Jon Snow when she appeared as Melisandre in “Late Night with Seth Meyers.” A video posted on YouTube is about Melisandre attending a baby shower and trying to make friends.
When asked if Melisandre was dating anyone, she said there is someone she works with that she likes, but she is not sure if he is the “right guy.” “I’m pretty sure he’s dead,” she said. When asked to explain what she meant when she said “pretty sure he’s dead” Melisandre said “well at least that’s the way it was left.”
Many of the cast members and even the producers have insisted in the past that Jon Snow is dead. Fans, however, are hoping to see Jon Snow back in “Game of Thrones” Season 6.
The fans have been following the hairstyle of Harington, which he is contractually obligated to keep long for the show. Seeing him keeping his hair long, fans speculated that he will be back on the show.
However, the cast members may be right in saying that Jon Snow is dead. But, in the magical world of Westeros there are several ways in which a dead character can be brought back to life.
Beric Dondarrion (Richard Dormer) is one such character who has been brought back to life several times. It is, however, not clear how Jon Snow will be brought back to life in “Game of Thrones” Season 6. Apart from using, there is also the possibility of him warging into his direwolf and coming back as a part of the White Walker’s army.
