'Game of Thrones' Season 6: First teaser trailer shows Jon Snow and other dead characters from the past
The first teaser trailer of “Game of Thrones” Season 6 has been released and the video shows fan favourite character Jon Snow. Most of the filming of the show has already been completed, but the production is still continuing.
[Spoiler Alert]
The video starts with a picture of Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and a voice over talks about remembering the past. Fans of the franchise who expected this was to be a confirmation that Jon will be alive and well in the next season were disappointed to learn that the video is only footage of some of the scenes from the previous seasons.
Apart from some of the major deaths from the previous seasons, including that of Ned Stark (Sean Bean), the video also featured some of the shocking events like Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) losing his hand and the most recent scene of Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) going blind.
A voice over of Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright) at the end appears to be from “Game of Thrones” Season 6. “They have no idea what’s going to happen,” Bran can be heard saying in the video. Bran may be referring to the impending attack of the White Walkers’ army. With Jon Snow no longer the Lord Commander at the Wall and the diminished number of members of the Night’s Watch, the invasion could put the whole of Westeros under threat.
One fan theory about Jon Snow is that he will be brought back to life by Melisandre (Carice Van Houten). Houten is currently filming her scenes and she recently shared pictures from the set on her official Twitter account. The actress did not reveal any plot details about her character on the show in her posts.
“Game of Thrones” Season 6 is slated to premiere in April 2016. The producers of the show have so far not revealed the exact air date.
