'Game of Thrones' Season 6: Harald Karstark cast; producers reveal plan to plug leaks
A new report on “Game of Thrones” Season 6 reveals details about a character named Harald Karstark and the actor who will play the role. Meanwhile, the producers are leaving no stone unturned to make sure the episodes of the show don’t leak the way they did last time.
According to the resume posted online by actor Paul Rattray, he will be playing the new Lord of the Karstarks in the next season, Watchers on the Wall reports. In “A Song of Ice and Fire” book series, on which the TV series is based, the heir to the Karstarks is Harrion, who is also called Harry. The TV show appears to have modified the name of the character a little.
Harald is the son of Rickard Karstark (John Stahl), a character last seen in the TV series in Season 3 during the War of the Five Kings. The new lord is described as “ruthless and calculating” in a previously released casting announcement. “The frightening lord rules a vassal household with a castle stronghold,” the casting announcement had stated.
Meanwhile, the producers are doing everything they can to make sure that the episodes of “Game of Thrones” Season 6 do not leak beforehand. HBO Programming President Michael Lombardo told Entertainment Weekly that they will not be sending out press copies of the show in advance to reporters for reviews.
“It’s painful for Dan and David [when leaks happen],” Lombardo said. He pointed out that it is inevitable for friends to ask journalists to let them see the episodes. “Some of the press are fans who might be disappointed, but they’ll understand,” he said.
The interest in the events in “Game of Thrones” Season 6 is perhaps more acute than any other season of the show, as this will be the first time that the show will be going beyond the book series. The most talked about aspect this time around is the fate of Jon Snow (Kit Harington).
