'Game of Thrones' Season 6 production update: Filming to complete soon; cast members party in Belfast
“Game of Thrones” Season 6 production continues and cast members Emilia Clarke, Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams attended a party in Belfast, as filming is about to come to a close. Most of the filming for the popular show has already been completed and a teaser trailer has already been released.
According to a report by Winter Is Coming, filming at Banbridge for scenes showing Riverrun appears to have been completed. One of the few locations where filming is said to be currently taking place is at Magheramorne quarry.
Tourists who wanted to visit the quarry were not allowed to get too close, as the production crew feared that they would be able to see what was being filmed. It is not clear what scenes are being filmed at this location currently.
One major scene that is yet to be filmed is said to involve the character Wyman Manderly. The report speculates that this will be a scene which will show the House Frey paying for the Red Wedding massacre.
Not all the remaining scenes of “Game of Thrones” Season 6 are being filmed in outdoor locations. Cast members Clarke, Williams and Turner are reportedly filming their respective scenes in the studio at Belfast.
Clarke recently shared a picture of her fellow cast members Williams and Turner on Instagram. “Sisters from other misters...#ourbabieshavegrownupsofast #wrappingitupwithaview #doesthismakemeagoldenoldie?” the actress wrote in the post. Her post confirms reports about filming of the show about to wrap.
The three cast members were also spotted partying together in Belfast recently. A picture posted on the Twitter page of Dale McCrossan shows Turner, Williams and Clarke having fun together.
“Game of Thrones” Season 6 is slated to air sometime in April 2016. Some of the cast members of the show include Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister), Kit Harington (Jon Snow), Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister), Aidan Gillen (Petyr Baelish) and Conleth Hill (Lord Varys).
