'Game of Thrones' Season 6 spoilers: Major character leaves Meereen after an argument over magic
A new character will be entering Meereen in “Game of Thrones” Season 6. The question of whether to make use of the character to keep the peace in the city will reportedly lead to an argument between two characters and make one of them leave. [Spoiler alert]
According to a report by WinterIsComing, Varys (Conleth Hill) and Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) will have an argument about hiring a Red Priestess in order to sway the people of Meereen into being loyal to Daenerys (Emilia Clarke). Varys has always been wary of magic because of the painful memories from his childhood.
Readers should note that the Red Priestess discussed here is not Melisandre (Carice Van Houten), but a new character that will reportedly be played by Melanie Liburd. One of the leaked pictures from the production set of the TV series shows the new character giving a speech in public and Varys can be seen walking away.
Another picture from the set posted on Twitter by Todo Peniscola shows Varys and Tyrion taking a walk through the streets of Meereen. According to a report by WatchersOnTheWall, Meereen will experience a famine in “Game of Thrones” Season 6 and the two characters may be walking through the streets to assess the situation.
According to a casting breakdown, one of the characters who will be seen in the next season is a poverty stricken mother with a baby. One of the scenes will reportedly show this character feeling scared after meeting a “powerful political figure” on the streets of Meereen. The character, however, is said to be unable to speak.
The report speculates that the political figure that the impoverished woman meets is Tyrion. If Varys were to leave Meereen after Tyrion’s decision to use a Red Priestess to solve the city’s problems, Tyrion may have to rely on Missandei for support.
“Game of Thrones” Season 6 is slated to air sometime in April 2016. Some of the cast members of the show include Kit Harington (Jon Snow), Iain Glen (Jorah Mormont), Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) and Aidan Gillen (Petyr Baelish).
