'Game of Thrones' Season 6 spoilers: Return of this character after years brings hope for Jon Snow
A familiar character who has not been seen for years will be coming back in “Game of Thrones” Season 6. The return of the character gives hope for getting Jon Snow back on his feet and keep Kit Harington on the show.
[Spoiler alert]
While many fans hope for Melisandre (Carice Van Houten) to resurrect Jon Snow, they do so knowing that she has never brought anyone back from death. One character who has done that before is Thoros of Myr (Paul Kaye).
Readers who have been watching the show from the beginning will remember Thoros bringing Beric Dondarrion (Richard Dormer) back from death. Melisandre, at that time, was astonished by the power Thoros possessed.
Thoros has not been seen on the show in the past few seasons, but he may be back this year. Kaye’s agency Vivienneclore announced on its website that the actor will be reprising his role as Thoros in “Game of Thrones” Season 6.
Kaye was last seen playing the role of Thoros in 2013 in the episode “The Bear and the Maiden Fair.” The actor’s return after so long suggests that Thoros may once again bring someone back from the dead.
The producers appear to have skipped the storyline of Lady Stoneheart, which is the new name Catelyn Stark (Michelle Fairley) takes after her resurrection in the book series “A Song of Ice and Fire.” The most likely character that Thoros will resurrect in the new season is Jon Snow.
The trailer of the next season show Davos Seaworth (Liam Cunningham) trying desperately to protect the dead body of Jon, while Alliser Thorne (Owen Teale) and some of the other members of the Night’s Watch appear to be wanting the dead body.
“Game of Thrones” Season 6 is set to premiere on April 24. The show promises massive battles and even more deaths.
