'Game of Thrones' Season 7: Angela Lansbury in casting talks; New beach set in Spain
Angela Lansbury is reportedly in talks to be cast in “Game of Thrones” Season 7. Meanwhile, leaked pictures from the set show a new beach location in Spain, where some of the filming will take place.
According to a report by Metro, Lansbury is in talks to play a role in the next season of the popular HBO TV series. It is not clear what character the actress could play on the show.
Lansbury has a long acting career that dates back to the 1940s. Some of her projects include “Mr. Popper’s Penguins,” “Nanny McPhee,” “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” “Touched by an Angel,” and the animation films “Anastasia” and “Beauty and the Beast.”
This would be the second big casting announcement for the show this year. “Harry Potter” actor Jim Broadbent has already been confirmed to play a “significant role” next year.
Production of “Game of Thrones” Season 7 is yet to begin. The crew members have already started the preliminary work to get the sets ready. According to a report by Watchers on the Wall filming will take place at Muriola Beach in Barrika. It is not clear if this location will be used as the place where Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) will land her troops in Westeros.
Extras will reportedly be cast on Oct. 5. Filming at Itzurun Beach in Zumaia is said to begin from Oct. 26. The scenes at Muriola Beach are expected to be filmed right after this.
With the delay in the start of production of “Game of Thrones” Season 7; there will be a delay in the show’s return. The TV series is expected to premiere in June 2017. The producers are yet to announce an exact release date. As the show is racing towards conclusion; this will be the second last season for the show, and end with Season 8.
