'Game of Thrones' season 7: Behind-the-scenes video of Cersei Lannister
A new behind-the-scenes video of “Game of Thrones” season 7 has been released online. The teaser shows Lena Heady in costume, preparing to film her scenes as Cersei Lannister. HBO has been releasing updates like this in the past week, but there is still no word about when to expect the first full trailer or the air date.
The new video [see below] is a part of the “in production now” videos that HBO is releasing. The first one teased the Oathkeeper sword, but none of the cast members were featured in that teaser.
HBO aired the short teaser on its channel, but the video hasn’t been released online officially. It has, however, made its way to Twitter for the fans across the globe to see.
In the new video, Headey (Cersei) sits on a chair while two makeup crew members prepare her for a scene. She is sitting in a regular chair and not the Iron Throne. She may be heading a meeting with her new privy council, which went through a drastic change in the previous season.
Cersei Lannister is the all powerful queen in “Game of Thrones” season 7. Her rule in King’s Landing is absolute, after the deaths of her detractors as well as allies. It remains to be seen whether the common folk will pose a challenge to her rule in the absence of an organised leadership to guide them.
With two teaser released this week, it looks like HBO is preparing the grounds for the first full trailer. If the TV series is going to premiere sometime in July, then the fans can expect to see something by the end of this month or early next month. The studio, however, has been tight-lipped about when the show will return.
The video of the Oathkeeper is also significant. That sword was made from Valyrian steel. This metal is one of the few known things that can actually kill a White Walker. With the story now moving towards the endgame, the fans can expect an invasion this year. So, the people of Westeros will have to start preparing for the fight of their lives, and weapons made of Valyrian steel will be particularly important in the defence, along with Dragonglass.
All the major characters are expected to converge in “Game of Thrones” season 7. That means more emotional reunions, and clashes. Although the White Walker threat is looming, the war in Westeros continues.
