'Game of Thrones' season 7: The Long Walk; Watch the first official teaser trailer
HBO has finally released a trailer of “Game of Thrones” season 7, with actual footage from the show this time. The video titled “Long Walk” shows Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen and Cersei Lannister making their way to their respective seats. The first teaser of the new season that was released a few weeks back, only showed the sigils of the various houses.
Jon Snow (Kit Harington) walks through the dark passageways of Winterfell, his ancestral castle that he won after a hard battle last year. Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) is alone as she walks up to the Iron Throne. Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) is in her ancestral home at Dragonstone.
Cersei and Daenerys have a hint of a smile on their face. The two queens have much to celebrate. While the former has defeated all her enemies in King’s Landing and secured her position as the only real power center in the city, the Mother of Dragons should be happy about her first acquisition in Westeros after her invasion.
Jon Snow’s face betrays the grim future everyone faces in “Game of Thrones” season 7. He knows that everyone has good reason to be worried. The White Walkers are preparing for an invasion, which, if successful, will sweep through the lands and leave devastation everywhere. The fallen solders of Westeros will become new recruits of the Army of the dead, making it nearly impossible to defeat.
There are no dialogues featured in the video, but with one breath; Cersei announces the beginning of the long awaited winter. The Night’s King is also teased in the video. The music in the background is the 90s song “Sit Down” by the band named James.
The main plot of the new season is expected to focus on the war between the two queens, and how that impacts all the other major characters remaining in the show. Jon Snow, on the other hand will be busy building up his forces in order to defend the Wall from the White Walker invasion.
“Game of Thrones” season 7 is set to premiere on July 16. The show used to be on air in April every year; however the production was delayed this time around in order to film in winter weather. With many of the characters dead, and fewer characters being introduced this year, the show will focus more on the existing storylines. All the storylines will now converge more than ever, as the show moves towards the ending.
