'Game of Thrones' season 8 'full of betrayal' and war
It will not just be a straightforward war in “Game of Thrones” season 8. Cast member Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) has teased in a recent interview that the plot will be “full of betrayal” and “full of danger.”
Some of the biggest characters on the show have died over the years in each new season. According to a report by JustJared, Turner said in a recent interview that the last season of the show will be “bloodier than ever.” Some more big names are expected to exit in the final wars for Westeros, but that will not be all.
Turner has teased that the plot this time around is “full of betrayal.” She did not elaborate on the comment as that would be a spoiler.
Of the characters who are likely to betray on the show, the first on the list is Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau). Jaime was last seen riding north to join Jon Snow’s (Kit Harrington) army. However, Waldau’s comments in recent interviews suggest that his character my still have a soft corner for his sister/lover.
For Cersei (Lena Headey), Euron Greyjoy (Pilou Asbæk) is a bit of a wild card. The highly ambitious king of the Iron Islands appears to be keen on ruling Westeros, and has proposed marriage just for that purpose.
Sansa too hasn’t been a very consistent character. She appears to be loyal to the family at the moment, but she has tasted power and may be willing to do anything to stay the Lady of Winterfell.
Filming has wrapped for “Game of Thrones” season 8, and the show is currently in the postproduction phase of development. There are just six episodes on the show this time around, but the producers took the same amount of time to film as they would for a regular 10-episode season.
