'Game of Thrones' season 8: Social media ban on cast and more
After plot leaks spoiled almost the entire season of “Game of Thrones” this year, producers are taking tough measures to make sure that such is not repeated while filming season 8. Among the new rules the cast members need to follow involve a complete ban on social media.
In a recent interview, Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) revealed that the cast members have a “very strict social media ban this year,” Watchers on the Wall reports. The new measure by the producers has been taken to prevent spoilers. The actress added that the leaks are really frustrating for her.
Clarke did not talk about the plot of next season, but she did tease that the producers have come up with a number of different endings for the show. At this point in time, even the cast don’t know how the story will actually end.
The actors may come to know how the story ends in due course when they film the ending. However, if the producers decide to film a different finale, the secret will remain hidden until the show airs.
Clarke asked fans not to believe any present leaks because even the cast members don’t know how it will all end. So far, only pictures from the production set have surfaced online, but details about the story may also eventually follow.
Kit Harington (Jon Snow) also spoke about the show in an interview with TIME. The actor teased that “Game of Thrones” season 8 is “bigger than it’s ever been.” This is the last time the cast and crew will be together on the show, which started way back in 2011. Harington described the experience on the set as “quite emotional,” adding that he doesn’t know how he will feel when he’s done with production next year.
