If you have been waiting for news on the latest game for the latest installment of the Arkham Asylum game series, here's a big one: the first trailer for Batman: Arkham Origins is here.

In the trailer, you'd see Batman going head-to-head with Deathstroke, with no idea on who's getting the upper hand and why they are fighting in the first place.

According to the official YouTube page, the game is set as a prequel to the two previous games, Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City.

"Taking place before the rise of Gotham City's most dangerous villains and assassins, the game showcases a young, raw, unrefined Batman as he faces a defining moment in his early career as a crime fighter that sets his path to becoming the Dark Knight," according to the official BatmanArkhamCity YouTube page.

There is also a mention of identity and relationship formation, so a psychological spin to the game may be a crucial detail.

From Despicable Me to the adventurer mouse

What do you get when you put the mind of a film animator who created the cuddly yellow pill-like minions and the adorable villain, and put him at the helm of a video game?

A video game with the appeal you felt when you watched films like Despicable Me, The Lorax, and The Prince of Egypt.

VentureBeat reports that creator Lionel Gallat was going for empathy in his players, which is why the main character of his first-ever video game Ghost of a Tale is a mouse.

"I'm just trying to do something that's charming, sympathetic, but I'm not shying away from violence or danger or stuff like that," he said to VentureBeat.

The game is powered by Unity Engine, after the creator's struggle with CryEngine. But considering the necessary funds needed for the project, Gallat turned to Indiegogo for his creation.

Not a bad idea, and apparently fans don't think the game's plot is too shabby either as it has already reached a pledge of $49,560.

Those who are still interested in funding this Indiegogo project still have 14 days until the schedule of funding is over, thanks to an extension so it can garner the remaining $8,421, reports VG 24/7.

City Interactive goes for a next-gen game

There's something to look forward to from developer City Interactive, and it's a game that's up for next-gen consoles.

Entitled Lords of the Fallen, the game will be decision-based, with decisions affecting the storyline as well as the worlds and the characters within, reports VideoGamer.

"Our team is building Lords of the Fallen specifically for players who enjoy taking on huge challenges, where the odds are stacked against them," said Tomasz Gop, senior producer who also led the team for The Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings, to VideoGamer.

Other features to look forward to in the game include the customization and building of characters and mysterious and unique enemies.

Watch out for the gameplay, which will be features at the E3 2013 this June.
